Vexar 24 Posted February 21, 2020 OK, I'm definitely thinking about it. I haven't driven any further East than San Diego since I moved, though. Anyone else thinking of going? Quote Link to comment
Matt Christian 17 Posted March 3, 2020 The event registration page is live, has been available for a while. Be aware that Tesla drivers have recently reported on Plugshare that some Supercharger pedestals in the area of the Sound of Silence rally are blocked or broken. Custer only has 3 fully accessible/open out of 8 pedestals. One is snowed over. Four working stalls are blocked by construction equipment. Rapid City only has 2 fully working out of 4 pedestals. Stalls 1A and 2B have been reported as broken for months. There are quite a few area hotels with destination chargers, much slower of course. Quote Link to comment
Matt Christian 17 Posted March 4, 2020 I contacted the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce and Dolsee Davenport replied with this information: Quote The current construction is for the Lynn’s Dakotamart grocery store next to the Super Chargers. They are adding a gas station to their property which has been planned for several years. It’s our understanding that the entire project is to be completed by the beginning of May. However, even if it is not all the way done, we will make sure that the construction equipment is moved out of the way of the Super Chargers for the Tesla Rally. Quote Link to comment
Matt Christian 17 Posted March 30, 2020 Unfortunately the Sound of Silence 2020 has been cancelled by the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce. Quote Due to President Trump extending social distancing guidelines until April 30, and Governor Noem anticipating the height of the COVID-19 virus spread in South Dakota to peak around mid-May, the Custer Chamber Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Sound of Silence Tesla Rally. Later today we will be issuing refunds to those who have pre-registered. If you have already made reservations at a local hotel, we would encourage you to call them directly to cancel. Thank you for your continued support. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you at next year's Tesla Rally. Custer Current Closures Quote Link to comment
