mike
The article is decently written, shows the conspiracy numbers, and links to the original vid. TopGear.. faking information? Say it ain't so! https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-s-porsche-taycan-top-gear-drag-race-fake-results-video/
Aaron M
Are we suggesting negligence, sloppy work, or just pure Porsche boasting? To me the latter is much worse than than just not knowing how to operate the vehicle to its maximum potential but obviously they should do their homework before making claims. It would just be sad if they intentionally rigged the race for desired outcomes whether it be for monetary gain or not.
Vexar
Top Gear has quite a history of manipulation with Tesla. There was a lawsuit about them finding a script laying out to deliberately make the Roadster look bad. I thought since the UK version of the show collapsed in shame it was all over. Near as I can tell, this was just a deliberate attempt to make the Taycan look better comparatively. It isn't in the drag strip thing they did. As I understand it, the Taycan runs at a higher voltage and should be able to outlast a pre-Raven drivetrain Model S before the BMS kicks in and says time to chill. With that in mind, a Raven drivetrain would be superior against a Taycan, and it sounds like the Plaid drivetrain is just going to stomp all over the place as usual with Tesla.
Aaron M
Do they just not like Tesla or are they being paid to make them look bad? I'm just curious of the motive

I'm just curious of the motive I think it was originally because Tesla is disruptive to the industry of ICEs. Now, I think they like the attention of controversy. In both cases, they worsen their reputation with me.
